People in networking meetings usually ask me “So, what do you do?”
My response is to say – I help my clients find the life and career they will love! Over 70% of the clients I’ve worked with had no idea what they wanted from life which is fine if you’re not bothered. It’s one reason you should not hire a life coach.
However, if you do want to know ‘what’s next in your life’ there has never been a better time to get some coaching either 1-1 or as part of a community of likeminded people.
The next question I get asked is “How to you do that?”
My response is that my job is to help them to examine what’s currently keeping them up at night. Here’s some examples.
Different generations worry about different things so as we progress through life the anxiety and stresses change which is completely normal.
Last week I helped a lady in her 20’s explore and discover what she wanted from life and now she is following her passion and moving to her dream job in Europe.
A man in his 30’s was worried about not having achieved anything yet. He went onto create of vision board with my help and now has a focus for the future and a plan to get there.
The Success Principles methodology has worked for decades but you might not have heard of it because its unique to Jack Canfield Certified Trainers. With all of the problems and uncertainty in the world, effective communication is more critical now than ever.
So many disagreements and arguments stem from an inability to communicate properly.
If we could just learn to express ourselves more clearly and transparently and really listen to each other with open hearts and minds, just imagine what we could accomplish!
That’s why, this week I encourage you to be more mindful of the way you communicate with others, both online and in the real world. Here’s a video by Jack Canfield who explains five communications skills you could practice.
Remember to practice the five communication skills Jack taught you in the video above.
When you communicate with others, be sure to ask yourself:
… Are you being impeccable with your word?
… Are you taking their words or actions personally?
… Are you making assumptions?
… Are you being a good listener?
… Are they really saying what you think they’re saying? (If you’re not sure, ask them!)
By improving your communication skills, you will make it so much easier for yourself to cultivate the connections, respect, support and affection you need to thrive in your personal and professional life.
If you’re like most people, you may feel like you’ve been in a “holding pattern” for the past few months, with no clear vision for the future. After all, it’s hard to focus on the future when you’re not even sure what the world is going to look like a week from now!
But here’s a little secret for you – You create your future. It’s not something that “just happens” to you… It’s a reality you design with your own thoughts and actions.
So now that 2020 is over, I encourage you pull your focus away from the endless news cycle and turn your attention toward the thing that matters most: your own life and future.
Now is the time to get clear on what you want your life to look like in the months to come.
It’s time to create a fresh vision for your life and start taking the steps you need to take to make that vision a reality.
Because when you spend all your time obsessing about the news and worrying about things you can’t change, you distract yourself from the things you CAN change – and the positive outcomes you can create in your own life and the world around you.
So, this week I encourage you to take some time to focus on yourself and what YOU really want to experience in your life.
It’s the first (and most important) step to making your dreams come true! Join me for my live training sessions starting soon. I want to see you there and work alongside you.
Have you heard of the term, “doom scrolling”? It’s when you scroll mindlessly through the posts on social media to see what negative stories are dominating the day’s news. A lot of us get stuck doing this… especially these days.
But constantly living in a state of high tension and dread isn’t good for you!
That’s why, I challenge you to turn off Facebook and Twitter and spend some time this week focusing on yourself, your needs, and what YOU want to experience in the weeks to come.
To help you do that, today I’d like to share some fun and helpful resources that will help you avoid common success pitfalls, connect with a positive and vibrant community, and get clear on what you would like your life to look like in the months ahead!
Grab your FREE worksheet called “What do you want?” from The Success Principles™ library here.
Do you have thoughts that twist your stomach into knots and keep you up at night, unable to sleep?
Whatever your answer is, I want you to know:
You don’t have to be afraid any longer.
Fear is a natural part of life, but it doesn’t have to be all-consuming.
Anxiety and fear are caused by imagining negative outcomes, so it’s up to you to redirect your mind to imagine and visualize the positive outcomes you want, and not the outcomes you don’t want.
Think about it…Focusing on negative thoughts isn’t making the situation better in any way is it? Those thoughts aren’t helping YOU at all. They aren’t equipping you with any resources or information you can use to deal with the situation.
All they are doing is robbing you of your peace of mind and depriving you of the determination and fortitude you need to successfully handle the challenges life throws onto your path.
And while we will all feel anxious or scared at times, the good news is we have the power to change these feelings. You absolutely do not have to stay stuck in fear!
So, this week Jack Canfield who is our CEO of The Jack Canfield Training Group where I am a Certified Trainer would like to share some of my favourite strategies for releasing fear and stress so you can shift your focus from the problem to the solution and do whatever you have to do to thrive.
In this recorded Q&A, Patty Aubery and Jack Canfield share our strategies for managing negative emotions such as fear and stress – and how to make your life so much better by focusing on what you CAN change instead of worrying about the things that are beyond your control.
In recent posts I’ve given away free worksheets to start the process of pupils taking 100% responsibility. In class I’ve found that teenagers respond really well to them. I’m giving them to you to help your teens get ahead. Download your copies here today.
In class we often talk about Grades and these are important BUT they don’t help teenagers focus on what they’re passionate about and they often choose subjects, courses and degrees they are simply not engaged with.
So, The Success Principles for Teens™ Programme takes a different approach discovering what teenagers are passionate about and then finding a road map for them to take forward.
Consider this – if more teens know who they are, and what they want from life and their career and were passionate about moving toward would that be better than demotivated and unengaged pupils I’ve taught at Universities across the UK. I hope your answer would be YES.
At a workshop with a group of teenagers at Havant and South Downs College I asked this question “What would be the job you’d love so much that you’d do it for free but that you’d actually get paid for?”
One young lady said she wanted to be a gardener and got clarity about the types of courses she would be passionate about pursuing. University is not for everyone!
Help your teens today using the worksheets in my book called “The Ultimate Guide for Parents: How to help your kids become self-confident, happy and passionate.” Now available on Amazon.
