What do you do when fear hits you?

When fear hits you remember the words of Marianne Williamson.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate,” Williamson writes in A Return to Love.

“Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.”

So what do you do?

People in networking meetings usually ask me “So, what do you do?”

My response is to say – I help my clients find the life and career they will love! Over 70% of the clients I’ve worked with had no idea what they wanted from life which is fine if you’re not bothered. It’s one reason you should not hire a life coach.

However, if you do want to know ‘what’s next in your life’ there has never been a better time to get some coaching either 1-1 or as part of a community of likeminded people.

The next question I get asked is “How to you do that?”

My response is that my job is to help them to examine what’s currently keeping them up at night. Here’s some examples.

Different generations worry about different things so as we progress through life the anxiety and stresses change which is completely normal.

Last week I helped a lady in her 20’s explore and discover what she wanted from life and now she is following her passion and moving to her dream job in Europe.

A man in his 30’s was worried about not having achieved anything yet. He went onto create of vision board with my help and now has a focus for the future and a plan to get there.

It’s More Important Now Than Ever Before…

With all of the problems and uncertainty in the world, effective communication is more critical now than ever.

So many disagreements and arguments stem from an inability to communicate properly.

If we could just learn to express ourselves more clearly and transparently and really listen to each other with open hearts and minds, just imagine what we could accomplish!

That’s why, this week I encourage you to be more mindful of the way you communicate with others, both online and in the real world. Here’s a video by Jack Canfield who explains five communications skills you could practice.

Remember to practice the five communication skills Jack taught you in the video above.

When you communicate with others, be sure to ask yourself:

… Are you being impeccable with your word?

… Are you taking their words or actions personally?

… Are you making assumptions?

… Are you being a good listener?

… Are they really saying what you think they’re saying? (If you’re not sure, ask them!)

By improving your communication skills, you will make it so much easier for yourself to cultivate the connections, respect, support and affection you need to thrive in your personal and professional life.

It’s time to create a fresh vision for your life and start taking the steps you need to take to make that vision a reality.

Because when you spend all your time obsessing about the news and worrying about things you can’t change, you distract yourself from the things you CAN change – and the positive outcomes you can create in your own life and the world around you.

So, this week I encourage you to take some time to focus on yourself and what YOU really want to experience in your life.

How to Overcome Fear and Stress…

What are you afraid of?

Do you have thoughts that twist your stomach into knots and keep you up at night, unable to sleep?

Whatever your answer is, I want you to know:

You don’t have to be afraid any longer.

Fear is a natural part of life, but it doesn’t have to be all-consuming.

Anxiety and fear are caused by imagining negative outcomes, so it’s up to you to redirect your mind to imagine and visualize the positive outcomes you want, and not the outcomes you don’t want.

Think about it…Focusing on negative thoughts isn’t making the situation better in any way is it? Those thoughts aren’t helping YOU at all. They aren’t equipping you with any resources or information you can use to deal with the situation.

All they are doing is robbing you of your peace of mind and depriving you of the determination and fortitude you need to successfully handle the challenges life throws onto your path.

And while we will all feel anxious or scared at times, the good news is we have the power to change these feelings. You absolutely do not have to stay stuck in fear!

It was a great pleasure to visit several Women’s Business Club events during January, it was lovely to meet you all.
