Friday Motivation for you

My plan as you know is to share motivational thoughts, stories, tips, and tools to help discover what you want in life and how to achieve it. So this week I thought I’d share a really valuable resource with you today. It’s called ‘Decide what you want’ and it’s one of our core Success Principles as Jack Canfield trainers.

Did you know – Inside of every one of us is that tiny seed of the “you” that you were meant to become?

Unfortunately, many of us have buried this seed in response to our parents, teachers, coaches, and other adult role models as you were growing up and life changes doesn’t it?

So “In the name of being sensible, we end up becoming numb to our own desires”. We play along and think everything is fine. Have you done that? I certainly have on several occasions in my life. One of them was playing the dutiful wife.

But here’s the thing – not knowing what you want is costing you the opportunity to live the life you would enjoy if only you knew how. So, let’s do an exercise now which will help you to clarify what you want in your life and career. This is so exciting for me to share this with you.

Ask yourself the questions: What do you want to do, be and have?

Here’s a couple off my list:

I want to feed Giraffes in Nairobi, I want inspire people to go after what they want in life, I want to stay true to myself on every occasion, I want to live in a warm climate in the Winter.

Do you get the idea?

If you know what you don’t want -write that down and then next to it write what you do want. I found this easier for me at first. Write in the space below and carry on the list until you run out of thoughts.

Notice how you feel when you focus on that you want. Many people spend time focusing on what they don’t want, when focus is shifted to what you want, your energy rises.
