Are you good enough?
I’m currently working with a book company called Librotas here in the UK. My book mentor is Karen Williams and she recently attended The Best You Expo in London. Out of this one of the speakers there said:
“So many people put off doing what they want to do. There’s always an excuse… They’ll do it when they’ve achieved something else first. They’ll blame other people or situations for not doing it. And for some, there is that niggle or frustration that holds them back from doing what they really want to do”.
It grabbed her attention, because when it comes to writing a book that will build your business, Karen also hears things like this all the time:
- I don’t feel successful yet…
- I don’t think I’m good enough.
- It feels to scary to put myself out there.
- Do I know enough yet?
- I’ll do it when…
So, it becomes easier to hide away in a corner rather than stretch your comfort zone and take some action. But wouldn’t it be a shame to spend years talking about the idea of writing a book, but never making it happen?
It’s all too easy to find plausible reasons not to turn your dream into a reality. But it’s not going to help you or your business if you continue to play small. Not to mention the impact this would have on you personally and those who you love.
How would you feel if your book never happened?
Or worse still someone else got there before you and wrote it first?
I was in that space six months ago and I continue to be inspired by Karen and The Author’s Journey network, The Speakers, Authors and Coaches Network and my Jack Canfield colleagues. I’ve now written my book called “The Ultimate Guide for Parents: How to help your kids become self-confident, happy and passionate”. We’re currently in the design stage of the front and back cover so I’m getting excited about getting it out there on shelves. If you’d like to know please feel free to contact me or pre-order the book here.
